CPM Ontology

Welcome to the CPM Ontology repository. This ontology defines classes and properties for architecture and architecture conservation.

The CPM is designed to offer a structured and articulated representation of historic architecture, including the complex relationships between knowledge, analysis, description, maintenance, and conservation, within an integrated heritage management perspective. To ensure semantic coherence and interoperability with other ontological models in the cultural heritage domain, the CPM has been integrated within the hierarchical structure of CIDOC CRM. This integration was guided by the need to maintain adherence to the general principles of ontological modelling while safeguarding the specific characteristics of historic architecture. In this way, these buildings are not reduced to mere functional or economic objects but are instead recognized for their complexity and cultural value.
